Travel with us on an adventure to Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas! The excitement begins at the Museum with a behind the scenes tour and a day of Scuba Diving, performing underwater missions like the astronauts do. Then, we’ll fly to Houston and visit Space Center Houston for a behind the scenes tour of NASA’s JSC! |
Monday - This five-day adventure begins here at the Museum on Monday morning at 7AM. We will spend the day at Heartland Scuba Center where we will learn to Scuba Dive. After we have mastered the technique we will move on to more advanced activities that include performing under water missions like the Astronauts do at the Neutral Buoyancy Lab at Johnson Space Center! Following a successful day of astronaut training in the pool, we will tour the Museum, then build and launch rockets! Tuesday - We begin our travels to Johnson Space Center in Houston Texas. We will be flying out of Eppley Airfield in Omaha. We will arrive at our hotel that evening. Wednesday - We will be participating in the “Level Nine” tour of Johnson Space Center. Some of the exciting things to look forward to are the Neutral Buoyancy Lab, Space Environment Simulation Lab, Robotics Lab, Space Suit Display, Teague Auditorium, Historic Mission Control, New Mission Control, Space Vehicle Mock-up Facility and Building 3 where we will be eating lunch with the Astronauts!! It is not possible to pack any more excitement into one day! Thursday - Our second day in Houston will be spent at Space Center Houston, the official visitor center of Johnson Space Center. There you will experience their many space simulators, hands-on activities, many artifacts, two IMAX Movies, and special guest speakers from NASA! Friday - We will visit the Museum of Natural Science in downtown Houston prior to our departure. We will depart Houston and return to Omaha (TBA) for pick-up at the Strategic Air & Space Museum.
