The mission of the Museum Education Department is to offer a broad array of educational programs and information services to create interest in aviation and aerospace fields of study. Our goal is to promote greater understanding by:
- providing high-quality resources to teachers for use with their students prior to or during a Museum visit
- delivering appropriate in-service programs that offer teachers the opportunity to enhance their curriculums with aviation and aerospace education materials
- developing aviation and aerospace education classes to be offered at the Museum
- designing and implementing an effective outreach program, using a variety of techniques, to educate those not able to visit the Museum
- coordinating aviation and aerospace education efforts with other area programs
The Strategic Air and Space Museum is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization which receives no government funding. Donations are tax exempt to the fullest extent allowed by law. The Museum earns more than 70% of its annual operating budget through admissions, store sales, membership, facility rental and special events.
