Message from the Director:

As we close out 2021 and move into the New Year, the museum staff, volunteers, the Board of Directors and I, want to thank you for an amazing year. As we approach the end of the second year of the COVID pandemic, the Museum has had a remarkably successful year. With your help, the Museum has survived as one of the most successful museums in the country because of you. The support we have received through these times has strengthened the Museum and we are presented with a great future.
Our education programs are as strong as ever. The arrival this year of the F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter and the MiG-23 has added to the collection and the story of Strategic Air Command and the Cold War. We are preparing the British Avro Vulcan to come in for restoration in 2022 as we have finally, after six years, completed and dedicated the EC-135 Looking Glass after its a long journey to restoration. The kind support of our visitors led to one of the best operational years ever and we have added special events throughout the year to attract a broad range of interests. Our congressional representatives have been to the museum on multiple occasions, showing their support for the continued mission of the Museum.
We have much to be thankful for this time of the year, most thankful for you. 2022 will bring a host of new events, and the traditional events you have come to enjoy over the years. There are changes, challenges, and improvements on the horizon for us. More good things are happening with your support and the dedication of a great staff and volunteer corps.  Many of our new exhibits have been conceived and built in-house, and we will continue that pursuit as well as have great new traveling exhibits arrive in the near future. Our evolving emphasis is on you, our stakeholders, and what your experience should be at one of the greatest museums and attractions in Nebraska. Come for a visit, ride the simulators, have a great meal in the café, and browse our store (also available online.) We want to wish you a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you at the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum.
Happy New Year!
