Drone Expo 2018
Includes Youth Workshops & Helicopter Rides
ASHLAND, NE. (August 28, 2018) – Creighton University and the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum will hold a Drone Expo on September 29, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring helicopter rides and indoor activities for aviation and drone enthusiasts.
The Drone Expo includes an outdoor racing demonstration, indoor flight safety presentations, booths from experts in drone and aviation related fields, and a hands-on workshop for youth.
The drone youth workshops will take place throughout the day and are included in the cost of general admission. Reservations are not required. Guests can choose between learning to program a Ryze Tello drone or try their hand at flying one of the Tello drones. Workshops are free and open to the public for school age youth grades 4-12.
The outdoor activities include a drone racing demonstration by Lincoln Drone Racing Club and helicopter rides by Johnson Helicopter Services. Helicopter ride reservations will be taken the day of the event starting at 9 a.m. and cost $60.00 per person plus tax.
To add to the excitement, the Museum will hold a grill-out and a free concert in its back parking lot from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Hot-off-the-grill options will be available for purchase during the grill-out.
The Drone Expo is a collaborative effort with support from Creighton University RadLab, Cox Communications, and Oracle Aviation.
The indoor festivities are part of general admission. General admission is $12/ adult, $11/ senior or military, $6/youth 4-12 years of age. Lunch options at SAC Lunch or the grill-out are additional.
