Each day the SAC Museum preserves the history of the Strategic Air Command, the Cold War, and space artifacts and the connections made to our local community. You can help carry on this legacy by contributing to the annual fund. Your donation to the fund will help sustain general operations of the Museum, needed building repairs, and the maintenance and preservation of permanent exhibitions throughout the Museum. All gifts to the Annual Fund are prioritized by the biggest need within the Museum. Please make a gift to our Annual Fund.
Annually the SAC Museum serves 25,000 students in Educational Programs. These programs include field trips, outreach, afterschool programming, camps, workshops and overnights. The Museum focuses on STEM curriculum which surrounds robotics, engineering, space, aviation and history. Your donation to education enables the Museum to continue to provide the materials needed for all these terrific programs that may inspire the next great scientist, engineer, or space explorer. Did you know that a single aircraft takes thousands of hours to restore? Did you know that our B-52 was the first operational B-52 in the USAF? After twenty years, we still are not done restoring aircraft. Although many of those hours are gratefully provided by volunteers, the material and equipment costs to preserve our nation's heritage are enormous. Tools, paint, machinery, and management staff take a toll on museum operations. But the outcome of pride shown in the skilled trades that preserve the aircraft is amazing. Donors have the opportunity to participate in the long term survival of the aircraft and artifacts of our service members. Your donation to the restoration department guarantees that stories will continue to be told and highlighted by aircraft and equipment displayed at the highest standards. Please make a gift to our Restoration efforts.
