World War II Event: Leslie Blasing

Leslie Blasing Military Salute Concert & WWII Exhibit Tour • August 25, 2017

Ashland, NE (June 27, 2017) – The Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum is hosting a military salute event that includes a guided tour of the Museum’s new WWII exhibit and a short performance by Leslie Blasing, highlighting WWII-themed songs.

Blasing currently performs all over the Rio Grande Valley at various resorts. In 2017, she put on a concert series titled “Leslie Presents!” This series consisted of “Women of Country Music,” “East Coast to West Coast,” “The History of Rock and Roll,” “WWII and 1940’s Era Music,” and “The Hits of the 60s & 70s.”

Blasing’s musical career highlights include singing with Michael Martin Murphy at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, Lynyrd Skynyrd at Roar by the Shore motorcycle rally, and with Reba McEntire at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. She has received the Valley Star Award for Female Vocalist of the Year five times and Entertainer of the Year by the Winter Texan Times publication three times.

The purpose of the event is to honor those who served through an afternoon of music and an opportunity to tour the museum’s new exhibit, Courage from Above: Aerial Bombers of WWII.

The musical performance will last approximately one hour beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017. Following the musical performance, the Museum will offer a guided tour of its new WWII exhibit.

The event is part of general admission and the museum is offering $2.00 off admission for event attendees starting at 1 p.m. August 25. Discounted admission is $10 per adult and $4 per youth ages 4-12 (all rates subject to tax). The event is free for members.

The event concludes at 4 p.m. and guests are welcome to stay until closing time at 5 p.m. and enjoy the Museum.
