NOW SHOWING IN MARCH 2026

Seeing! A Photon’s Journey

Length: 27 minutes

Follow the journey of a single photon as it is produced in a distant star, before travelling across the vast expanse of space to land on someone’s retina. This full dome planetarium show explores some of the fascinating processes of the cosmos, from astrophysics to the biology of the eye and brain. This show is narrated by astronomer and science communicator, Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Cosmology

Length: 27 minutes

The study of our universe is as old as time, yet our understanding of the origins and nature of the universe is less than 100 years old. This full dome planetarium program, written and produced by high school and college students is an overview of the science of cosmology. From our earliest theories about the size of the universe to the big bang theory, this show details how our understanding has evolved over time.

Hot and Energetic Universe

Length: 30 minutes

The planetarium documentary The Hot and Energetic Universe presents with the use of immersive visualizations and real images the achievements of modern astronomy, the most advanced terrestrial and orbital observatories, the basic principles electromagnetic radiation and the natural phenomena related to the High Energy Astrophysics.

Europe plays a leading role in high energy astrophysics research. The XMM-Newton and the Integral missions are leading the exploration of the X-ray and gamma-ray Universe. ESA’s mission ATHENA, to be launched in 2028, will carry the most sensitive X-ray telescope ever and it will be the flagship of all high X-ray missions.

Exoplanets

Length: 30 minutes

An imaginative exploration into discoveries beyond our solar system. From successful planet finder missions CoRoT, Kepler, TESS and others, detecting alien worlds is no longer science fiction! The modern hunt for exoplanets is an adventure that began in the 20th century. It continues today as astronomers use both ground- and space-based observatories to find planets around other stars. Ultimately, this great age of discovery could lead to the detection of life beyond our solar system. This show tells the story of our search for alien worlds.

COMING SOON…

From Earth to the Universe

Length: 30 minutes

The night sky, both beautiful and mysterious, has been the subject of campfire stories, ancient myths and awe for as long as there have been people. A desire to comprehend the Universe may well be humanity’s oldest shared intellectual experience. Yet only recently have we truly begun to grasp our place in the vast cosmos. To learn about this journey of celestial discovery, from the theories of the ancient Greek astronomers to today’s grandest telescopes, we invite you to experience From Earth to the Universe.

This stunning, 30-minute voyage through space and time conveys, through sparkling sights and sounds, the Universe revealed to us by science. Viewers can revel in the splendor of the worlds in the Solar System and our scorching Sun. From Earth to the Universe takes the audience out to the colorful birthplaces and burial grounds of stars, and still further out beyond the Milky Way to the unimaginable immensity of myriad galaxies. Along the way, the audience will learn about the history of astronomy, the invention of the telescope, and today’s giant telescopes that allow us to probe ever deeper into the Universe.

Forward to the Moon

Length: 26 minutes

Kari Byron from Crash Test World and MythBusters launches us on a journey beyond the Earth towards a sustainable future in space. NASA’s 21st-century Artemis program, named after the Greek moon Goddess and twin of Apollo, is the next step in our mission to explore the universe.

Phantom of the Universe

Length: 28 minutes

From the journey of protons racing through the world’s largest particle collider in Europe to up-close views of the Big Bang and emergent cosmos, Phantom of the Universe is a new full dome planetarium show designed to immerse audiences in the search for dark matter.

Messengers of Time & Space

Length: 29 minutes

A new age of astronomy is just about to start that will allow researchers to capture exploding stars, colliding black holes and other cosmic cataclysms in real time.

“Messengers of Time and Space” is designed to illuminate the imminent revolution in astronomy driven by time-domain and multi-messenger observations.

This immersive experience weaves a story that looks back at humanity’s long history with a changing night sky and explores how our perspective on the dynamic Universe is being revolutionized by observations of time-domain and multi-messenger phenomena.

Cosmic Castaways

Length: 20 minutes

There are places where the night sky has no constellations. No Orion, no Big Dipper, nothing but a few lonely, far away stars and a few faint, ghostly patches of light. Most stars lie within the crowded boundaries of galaxies, travelling with their brothers and sisters in a vast galactic family. But some find themselves on their own, deep within voids between the galaxies. These are the cosmic castaways.

Dark Matter Mystery

Length: 38 minutes

This planetarium show takes you on the biggest quest of contemporary astrophysics. You will see why we know that Dark Matter exists, and how this search is one of the most challenging and exciting searches science has to offer.

Europe to the Stars

Length: 31 minutes

This full dome experience takes the viewer on an epic journey behind the scenes at the most productive ground-based observatory in the world, revealing the science, the history, the technology, and the people. Discover the European Southern Observatory in a story of cosmic curiosity, courage and perseverance; a story of observing a Universe of deep mysteries and hidden secrets; and a story of designing, building and operating the most powerful ground-based telescopes on the planet.

This show focuses on the essential aspects of an astronomical observatory while offering a broader view of how astronomy is done. From site-testing to locate the best places in the world for observing the sky, to how telescopes are built and what mysteries of the Universe astronomers are revealing.
