Adopt a Plane
ASHLAND, Neb. — The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum is inviting individuals, families, businesses, foundations, and organizations to become part of aviation history through its new Adopt a Plane program.
The Adopt a Plane program offers supporters the opportunity to sponsor one of five legendary aircraft that helped shape American military aviation: the F-117 “Nighthawk,” B-52 “Stratofortress,” SR-71 “Blackbird,” B-29 “Superfortress,” and B-36 “Peacemaker.”
Each of these iconic aircraft represents a defining chapter in the history of American airpower. From pioneering stealth technology and strategic nuclear deterrence to record-breaking reconnaissance and the bombers that helped shape the outcome of World War II. Sponsorships through the Adopt a Plane program directly support the ongoing preservation and stewardship of these remarkable aircraft.
Our CEO, Michelle Chartrand stated, “The aircraft here at the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum are more than just incredible machines. They’re pieces of American history, each one carrying the stories of the men and women who designed, built, maintained, and flew them.”
Annual sponsorships help fund:
- Aircraft preservation and conservation
- Routine cleaning and care
- Educational interpretation and storytelling
- Historical research
- Signage and exhibit enhancements
- Long-term stewardship of the museum’s collection
Sponsors will be recognized with signage displayed near their adopted aircraft and acknowledged on the museum’s website. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses, corporations, individuals, families, foundations, community organizations, and those wishing to honor or remember a loved one through an “In Honor Of” or “In Memory Of” sponsorship. The Adopt a Plane program reflects the museum’s ongoing commitment to preserving America’s aviation heritage while creating meaningful ways for the community to engage with its mission.
