Strategic Air Command 80 Years Exhibit

The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum is commemorating 80 years since the establishment of Strategic Air Command with a new exhibit exploring SAC’s history and lasting impact on the Cold War.

The exhibit examines SAC’s transformation under General Curtis E. LeMay, its role in the U.S. Nuclear Triad, and its influence on Cold War strategy and nuclear deterrence.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to see significant historical artifacts, including General Curtis E. LeMay’s dress uniform, General George C. Kenney’s dress uniform, a Soviet Army Greatcoat, a piece of the Berlin Wall, and other SAC and Cold War artifacts.

The exhibit offers visitors a closer look at the people, strategy and history behind one of the most significant military commands of the Cold War.
