Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum Unveils Updated “Remember Our Fallen” Exhibit Ahead of September 11 Anniversary

ASHLAND, Neb. — September 3, 2026 — The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum will open an updated Remember Our Fallen exhibit to the public on Friday, September 4, offering visitors new ways to learn about the events of September 11, 2001, reflect on the lives lost, and remember the service and sacrifice that followed.
As the 25th anniversary of September 11 approaches, the museum has expanded the Remember Our Fallen exhibit with new educational and interactive elements designed to provide greater context surrounding the attacks and their lasting impact.The updated exhibit will feature:
• Three new walls featuring maps that help tell the story of September 11, 2001, and illustrate the events and their impact.
• An interactive experience allowing visitors to search the names of service men and women who lost their lives while serving in the Global War on Terrorism.
• A continued tribute to those we lost, honoring the courage, sacrifice, and service that followed in the years after September 11.

“The goal of this updated exhibit is to give our visitors an opportunity not only to remember what happened on September 11, but to better understand the events that followed and the tremendous sacrifice made by so many,” said Michelle Chartrand, CEO of Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum. “We hope this space encourages people to pause, reflect, and remember the individuals whose lives were lost and those who answered the call to serve.”
The updated Remember Our Fallen exhibit will be available for visitors beginning September 4 and will remain part of the museum’s ongoing exhibits.
