Coffee and Camaraderie: Community for Veterans, Military Members, & Gold Star Families
ASHLAND, Neb. — The Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum is strengthening its commitment to the military community through Coffee & Camaraderie, a free monthly gathering designed to honor service, build connections, and provide meaningful access to the museum for veterans, military members, and Gold Star families.
The museum will host a special Veterans Day edition of Coffee & Camaraderie on Wednesday, November 11, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. The event will feature free museum admission and coffee for Veterans, Military Members, and Gold Star Families, along with a community resource fair connecting attendees with local businesses, organizations, and service providers dedicated to supporting the military community.
Coffee & Camaraderie was created to make the museum a welcoming place for those who have served, those currently serving, and the families who share in that service. Through consistent opportunities to gather, share experiences, explore military history, and connect with valuable resources, the program aims to foster a stronger sense of community beyond a single event.
As part of its broader commitment to military families, the museum also intends to join the Blue Star Families program, which works to strengthen military families through community connections and supportive programming. This effort reflects the museum’s goal of extending its mission beyond preserving history to creating meaningful experiences and connections for the military community it serves.
“Coffee & Camaraderie is about creating a consistent place where veterans, military members, and Gold Star families feel welcome,” said CEO, Michelle Chartrand. “We want attendees to know they have a place here, whether they come to connect with others, discover community resources, or spend time engaging with the history they helped shape.”
Coffee & Camaraderie will continue as a monthly gathering at the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum, with rotating community resource partners and military history spotlights. Veterans, military members, and Gold Star families are invited to attend and connect with fellow members of the military community in a welcoming environment.
